Pair Of Reliquary Frames - 19th Century
In each of these charming reliquaries, a painted wax devotional figure sits enthroned in a setting of cannetille and colored beads. This decoration is typical of Germanic monastery work known as "Reinliche Arbeiten" (Pure Works). Two relics are attached to these holy figures: Saint Vitus, Martyr, and Saint Maurice in the first reliquary; Saint Pacificus, Martyr, and an Unknown Saint in the second.
