Hunt Of Saint Ursula Of Cologne - 17th Century
An exceptional receptacle for our relic badge of the Saint Ursula Society. Made of ebony, silver and gilt copper with an architectural shape highlighted by four detached columns, it houses a head of the eleven thousand Virgins of the Saint Ursula Society.
Richly embroidered with gold and silver thread, the base is decorated with hard stone cabochons inscribed in openwork silver motifs.
The upper part, richly applied with busts of cherubs, shells and scrolls in silver and gilt copper, is topped with a cross.
A German work, mid-17th century, Augsburg or Innsbruck region.
Dimensions: 64 cm high, 38 cm wide.
