"Painting By Luigi Baldero (19th Century): Tavern Scene "
Luigi Giorgio Baldero, a 19th-century Italian painter who died in 1900, quickly specialized in genre scenes featuring musketeers and, in particular, in festive 17th-century tavern interiors, where the joyful and jovial atmosphere of the figures is palpable. He extended the genre of Flemish revelry, which itself drew upon Caravaggesque themes. This large painting, on its original canvas and in a beautiful period frame of gilded and patinated Louis XV style stucco, is in perfect condition.
