Very beautiful painting representing cows in the pasture with a typical guardian of the Barbizon school, on its original canvas, signed at the bottom in the center and with a superb period salon frame in molding and gilded stucco. Émile VAN DAMME SILVA is a Belgian painter of landscapes and animal scenes born in Brussels in 1853 and died in 1935. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français as well as in Brussels, Munich, Dresden and Paris.
