Born in Boulogne on July 25, 1796. Enlisted as a volunteer in 1812. Fell gloriously at the head of his regiment on September 8, 1855, at the capture of Sevastopol, Crimean War. Portrait of fine quality painted by Leoni Boulanger during the Second Empire after the bronze sculpture made by Alphonse Giroux around 1860. Unframed, minor chips, unvarnished.
