Stamped brass chenille helmet, crest with gadroon decoration stamped with the letters MF, false chinstrap with flat scale covered with leather, front of the crest with flaming grenade, front plate with uncrowned imperial eagle (under the presidency of Napoleon III. two flag points missing), resting on an orb bearing the word “DEVOUEMENT” with a band surrounding it with the text “SAPEURS POMPIERS DE CONNATRE”, fixed visor with stamped decoration of two crossed and knotted sapper axes framed with laurel leaves. Black horsehair chenille, period red plume in its plume holder, without fixing screws. Interior absent.
