Infantry Commander's Kepi With Model 1931 Carrying Case.

INFANTRY REGIMENT COMMANDER'S KEPI, 1931 model.

Cap and turban in fine madder-red cloth, black cloth headband, gold rank tassels of the post-1883 model. On the front of the headband, a crenellation embroidered in gold cannetille.
Golden hemispherical buttons stamped with the infantry’s flaming bomb emblem, securing the false chinstrap in the unit’s color with so-called ribbed stitching.
Visor in black patent leather, underside in blackened embossed leather, blackened and patent leather band sewn with a saddle stitch.
Top of the cap features a triple Hungarian knot. Lining in red satin; sweatband in supple blackened leather.
Comes with a period wooden carrying case. The kepi rests in a cylindrical wooden hat box, typical for the preservation of this type of military item (rare).
