Beautiful brass firefighter's helmet, model 1855, Second Empire period.
Superb plate featuring a crowned imperial eagle with lightning bolts on a radiant sun background. It bears a banner with the inscription: "Srs Pompiers de Magny sur Tille".
High crest decorated with gadroons.
Brass chinstraps decorated with stylized scales mounted on leather. The chinstraps are fastened at the front by a buckle.
Original leather liner.
Good overall condition. Some dents, accident to chinstrap fastening system and incomplete leather liner (see photo).
