Pair Of Trilobed Vases, 1910, Ruby, 16,9", By François-théodore Legras (1839-1916)- Art Nouveau
Artist: François-théodore Legras
A majestic and rare pair of large Art Nouveau vases, circa 1910, from the "Rubis" series by master glassmaker François-Théodore Legras (1839-1916), crafted in frosted glass. The elongated, three-sided ovoid shape features trilobed necks, drawn while hot. A continuous decoration of ivy leaves in wine lees and garnet red is acid-etched and enameled. The vases are exceptionally luminous. Each piece bears the Legras signature within the decoration, and a label is still present under the base of one of the vases.
Perfect condition, with very slight variations between two pieces, demonstrating the meticulous craftsmanship of these works.
Height: 16,9".
Bibliography: François-Théodore Legras, Verrerie Artistique et Populaire Française by Dominique and Jean Vitrat; Jean-François and Marie-Françoise Michel, model with a similar decoration
