Base with fine fluting, very typical of Empire silverware.
Monogram engraved within a wreath of leaves, neoclassical style.
- Rooster hallmark with head turned left, wings open – hexagonal frame and number 1.
First standard hallmark, period 1798–1809, guaranteeing the silver at 950/1000.
- Guarantee hallmark – circular frame, number 85,
period 1798–1809.
- Goldsmith's hallmark.
Clearly visible but not identified in my database; possibly Jean Nicolas Soret, Parisian goldsmith specializing in hollow pieces (cups, goblets, salt cellars, sugar bowls, etc.).
Registered in Paris between 1798 and 1812.
