Purron In Blown Glass, 19th Century

Blown glass purron,

Moussans glassworks, mid-19th century.
This light green glass purron is characteristic of the production of these Languedoc glassworks.
There were several types of purrons; this one is a "Catalan" purron, also known as a "Spanish" or "Perpignan" purron.
These containers, traditionally used for wine to be drunk "à la régalade" , could also hold water or oil.
