View Of The Palazzo Madama In Turin, Signed Robert Daudet (1737-1824), Oil On Wood
Artist: Robert Daudet (1737-1824)
It is signed in the lower left and could be the work of Robert Daudet (1737-1824). Although he is primarily known for his engravings, architecture was his preferred subject, and it is therefore not unusual for him to have produced an oil painting on wood. The painting more closely resembles an engraving; the colors are delicate and sometimes suggestive. It exhibits a certain transparency that emphasizes the drawn lines. This also supports its attribution. An extremely attractive depiction of the Palazzo Madama in Turin. Circa 1830. High-resolution photos will be available.
