Very Beautiful Pompeian Style Scagliola Tray, Naples, 19th C
The central reserve comes from Greek mythology. A galloping chariot is attacked by winged chimeras. The stage is decorated with ancient Pompeian-style decorations. Hermes on foliage decorated with floral motifs, masks and plant elements follow one another with virtuosity. A light blue floral frame forms the edge of this polychrome panel.
