17th Century Italian Lombard Cuirassier Armour
A beautiful set of Italian Armour from the 17th century, made in the Lombard region. The Armour was made in one of the master workshops in Lombard Region.
The markings on the helmet "SS, SS".
This suit of armour is wonderful and completely original. The breast plate which is also marked with "IIIIV", has A firearms trial test. They would fire a musket at the plate in order to confirm the protective capabilities and strength of the armour. The armour produced in these workshop where considered some the finest because of their techniques and experience, they where to go to for Noble families and Generals.
Acquired from Florence, original came from Bracciano Castle.
