The mirror is antique with few pits and the original gilding is very vibrant.
Two Greek key patterns surmounted by a floral bouquet tied with a ribbon frame the sculpted pediment of musical instruments from which emerge knots and leafy branches.
A laurel wreath hangs from the Greek key patterns and continues as another leafy wreath that winds around the giltwood on either side of the mirror.
At the base of the mirror, there is a Greek key pattern on each side resting on two acanthus leaves.
This mirror, probably Provençal, is rare for its proportions and state of preservation and is particularly decorative, incorporating the neoclassical symbols characteristic of the Louis XVI style.
