Mahogany Veneer Chest Of Drawers, Louis XVI Period – Late 18th Century
An elegant Louis XVI period chest of drawers, crafted in mahogany veneer, characterized by its canted sides which lend it a beautiful architectural silhouette. It comprises seven drawers, each finely outlined with brass moldings and equipped with a working lock and key, and adorned with a gilt bronze ribboned keyhole escutcheon, emblematic of Louis XVI decorative refinement. Each drawer features two bronze laurel wreath pulls, a subtle allusion to the neoclassical motifs popular at the end of the 18th century. The piece rests on discreet straight legs, ensuring stability and elegance. The top is a marble slab with a molded edge, its canted sides harmonizing with the structure, adding a touch of nobility to the whole. ********Period: Late 18th century.
