Pair of oil paintings on panel, dating from the Napoleon III period or earlier, depicting bucolic scenes with figures and animals. They are very finely painted, with fresh colors. Both are signed in the lower right corner: L. MARIANI. The carved and gilded wooden frames each bear a cartouche with the painter's name: Luigi MARIANI. I have found no information on this painter, who was certainly of Italian origin. Dimensions with frame: 39 cm x 30 cm. Image size: 32 cm x 23 cm. They are in their original condition; I have not had them cleaned, but, as always, a light cleaning would enhance the beautiful colors.
