"The Mandolin Player: Romantic Oil On Panel"
Magnificent oil on panel from the 19th century, depicting a mandolin player flirting under a balcony. The signature, lower left, is unfortunately illegible. Surely a French or Italian work from the mid-19th century, the work of a very skillful hand. The subject is part of the second vein of the European Romantic movement (after 1830). Admire the colors (the pearly white in particular), the fine details (in the hands and face), and the romantic subject: this painting is a choice piece! Signature to be identified 45.5 x 28 cm
