Born in 1908, Marianne Fayol developed a passion for drawing and color at a very young age. After studying at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs (National School of Decorative Arts), she began a career in illustration, collaborating with several magazines and journals before devoting herself fully to painting.
Throughout her career, she exhibited in numerous French and international galleries and received several prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix de la Ville de Paris in 1953.
Her work is distinguished by its great freedom of composition and expressive use of color. Inspired by Impressionism, Fauvism, and the explorations of modern Expressionism, Marianne Fayol developed a personal language where abstraction mingles with the suggestion of reality.
Her canvases, often vibrant and luminous, explore the human figure, urban landscapes, and still lifes through a dynamic pictorial style. Awarded the Taylor Foundation Prize and the Menton Biennale Prize, among others, she left behind a rich and coherent body of work, marked by a quest for harmony between movement, color, and emotion.
