Edgard Naccache (1917-2006) was born in Tunis, Tunisia. Initially a journalist, he taught himself to paint and exhibited his first canvases in Tunis from 1938. He temporarily left Tunisia in 1948 and participated in the Salon de la Jeune Peinture in Paris, France. In 1949, he was one of the founders of the Tunis School, to which he claimed allegiance. He settled in France in 1962. The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, the Musée Hyacinthe Rigaud in Perpignan, the Château Grimaldi in Cagnes-sur-Mer, the Musée Public National d'Art Moderne et Contemporain in Algiers (Algeria), and the Musée National d'Art Moderne et Contemporain in Tunis all possess his works. In our painting, the artist seems to redefine the contours of the world, inspiring us to explore it and encouraging us to do so with this message: "And adventure!"
