Flemish cabinet. Ebony, blackened wood, oak, bone, and brass. Made of ebony and blackened wood, with oak backs, this cabinet opens with a recessed, hat-shaped top and sixteen drawers, six of which are set back, creating a theater-like effect behind the doors; the knobs are bone, those missing will be remade to the original design; the original keyhole escutcheons are brass; one key operates all the locks (one needs replacing). Flanders. Seventeenth century. Circa 1650.
