Spanish Bargueño-style Cabinet Made Of Inlaid Wood – Neo-renaissance Style, 19th Century
Spain, 19th century.
An important Spanish cabinet of the bargueño style, featuring rich decoration with inlaid wood, ornamental panels, and floral motifs.
The front, with its distinctive architectural design, is organized around a central compartment closed by a door, framed by two turned columns and surmounted by an arch. On either side are six drawers, plus a small central lower drawer, all adorned with rectangular panels featuring plant motifs and fitted with metal drop handles.
The sides feature elegant geometric marquetry, composed of wood veneers in contrasting shades, highlighted by light-colored borders and punctuated by small decorative elements with floral motifs.
An openwork gallery with turned balusters crowns the piece, lending lightness and verticality to this generously proportioned piece of furniture.
The central door, adorned with figurative decoration on a light background, is accompanied by its ring key and a yellow tassel.
Resting on small turned legs, this cabinet retains a beautiful decorative presence, characteristic of Spanish Renaissance-inspired furniture.
