"Mahogany Traveling Secretary"
A mahogany and brass traveling secretary in the form of a box with brass handles when closed. This box opens to reveal several storage compartments. The lid contains small weekly organizers in midnight blue leather adorned with gold leaf, and a document holder on the back. The other part of the box features a mahogany pen holder, two inkwell slots behind a leather-covered writing surface, and opens to reveal two storage compartments, one with three drawers. United Kingdom, second half of the 19th century. Good condition: some old restorations, reattached brass inlays, and basic re-gilding on two of the weekly organizer compartments,leather edge used on a few points . Dimensions when open: depth: 43 cm, height: 37 cm
