Longwy Baluster Vase, Late 19th Century, Height 27 Cm
Baluster vase from the Longwy earthenware and enamel factory, dating from the end of the 19th century (1880-1890) orientalist and Japanese period. The piece is made of fine earthenware using the technique of cloisonné enamels in relief (enamels surrounded by a black line) developed in Longwy from 1872. The decoration numbered D792 presents a dense and stylized floral decoration of the Chrysanthemum-paeonian type, influenced by Asian decorative arts. The enamels are in bright polychrome surrounded by black on a strong colored background. On the background, we find the numbers: Shape: 1089 Decoration: D792 With its height of 27 cm, this vase is representative of the collection pieces from the historical period of Longwy.
