"Pair Of Gilt Bronze And Patinated Bronze Candlesticks, Restoration Period. "
Elegant pair of candlesticks from the Restoration period (circa 1825–1830) in gilt bronze and green patinated bronze, of beautiful quality of casting and chasing. Each candlestick rests on a triangular base with concave sides and softened angles, decorated with acanthus leaves and volutes, surmounted by a shaft with a canted stem, a less common and sought-after form attested in the models of the Imperial Furniture Repository. The candlesticks are entirely composed of ten separate elements, finely adjusted and assembled by a threaded steel rod at the ends, according to the traditional technique of furniture bronze of the first half of the 19th century. The alternation of gilt bronze and patinated bronze creates a refined and luminous contrast. Height: 31.5 cm
