Maurice Jean Micha, 1890-1969, Belgian painter of genre scenes, portraits, still lifes, landscapes and urban views. Painter of frescoes. He was a student of Constant Montald at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and then in Italy. He was a friend of Willem Paerels. He initially belonged to Fauvism. Evolved towards a darker color and a more nervous style. Professor of drawing and art history at the Academy of Louvain from 1927 to 1956. He created the fresco of the Belgian Pavilion at the Universal Exhibition in New York in 1939. Knight of the Crown. Works at the Ixelles Museum. Artist listed in Bénézit, Arto and Piron.
