Depicting A Return from Fishing Livened Up by Market Gardeners and Children painted around 1950.
Attributed to Alfons Blomme, 1889-1979, Belgian painter and etcher of landscapes and figures. He was a student of G. Valleys at the Academy of Roeselare and F. Callener at the Academy of Brussels (1906-1913). After experiencing Neo-Impressionism in Brussels, this Little Belgian Master developed a personal technique with small touches. He spent the First World War in Veere, in the Netherlands, where he met Nico Eeckman. Prix de Rome 1920. He lived in Venice from 1923 to 1930. He moved to De Haan in 1930 where he met James Ensor. Director of the Ostend Academy from 1935 to 1940. In 1972 he opened his personal museum which he bequeathed to the city of Roeselare, which turned it into an exhibition gallery. Works in numerous museums. Artist listed in the Bénézit, Arto and Piron. Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc...
This isorel panel is in very good condition.
The painting, never cleaned, not dirty, is in very good condition, neither repainted nor repaired of any kind, nothing shows up under UV rays.
