An oil painting of 18 cm by 12 cm, probably in vellum, sits in the center of this vast composition. It is a polychrome scene of the Nativity.
Our reliquary is intended to hold four substantial ex-ossibus relics in bags.
Thus radiate Saint Felicis, Saint Innocent, Saint Crescent and Saint Exupére, all Martyrs of the first centuries.
The presence of four Agnus Dei in wax helps to confirm the authenticity of which we will speak again shortly after. One of our medallions is dated 1725 under the episcopate of Benedict XIII.
Finally, this precious reliquary has three clearly visible seals of the General Vicariate of an episcopate and, above all, its authenticity, although later, dated 1832.
The frame itself is worthy of interest. In carved and gilded wood, it is topped with a representation of God in the Cloud, holding the earthly orb and surrounded by two cherubs.
A rare and complete piece. A work from southern Germany.
