"Alexandre Louis Jacob, Clouds Over The Marsh, Oil On Panel"
Alexandre Louis Jacob was a French landscape painter, born on August 14, 1876 in Paris and died on March 22, 1972 in Créteil. A student of Eugène Claude at the Académie des Beaux-Arts, he specialized in the representation of atmospheric and luminous landscapes, often inspired by the banks of the Seine, particularly in Asnières-sur-Seine where he lived. His works are distinguished by a muted palette and a serene atmosphere, mixing realism and poetry. Jacob exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon from 1899 and became a member of the Société des artistes français. His style, marked by a delicate touch and a search for light, earned him international recognition, particularly after the Second World War, when his paintings were exhibited in Europe, the United States, and South America. Alexandre Louis Jacob remains above all a painter of nature, sensitively capturing the landscapes of his time, between tradition and modernity.
