A bust portrait of a middle-aged man holding a scroll of a red chalk drawing depicting a profile bust of a Roman figure. His severe expression may have been due to the concentration required to paint a self-portrait in front of a mirror. The painting has been relined and restored fairly recently and is sold unframed.
