Cup And Saucer In Porcelain, Imperial Vienna Manufactory – 1823/24

The cup (diameter 6.3 cm – height 6.3 cm) is marked with the form number 824, model 65, and painter’s number 21. The saucer (diameter 13.4 cm – height 2.8 cm) bears the form number 823, with turner 13 and painter 21.
The decoration consists of a garland of stylised green leaves, enhanced by fine gilt lines; at the centre of the saucer appears a star-shaped gilt floral motif. The gilding, partly worn from use and washing, reflects the everyday function of the object, while the porcelain is in perfect condition, without cracks or restorations.
A fine example of Viennese production from the early 19th century, sought after both for collections and for display.
