The bronze handles are particularly noteworthy, finely crafted with a design of opposing mermaids — a decorative motif typical of Venetian tradition. The original escutcheons are also finely chiseled and well preserved.
Although some alterations occurred over time — especially to the top and lower legs — the chest retains its original charm and quality, particularly in the burl veneer and metal fittings.
The piece measures 100 cm wide, 52 cm deep, and 94 cm high. Inside, there is an antique handwritten label addressed to Count Giovanni Battista Viola, likely connected to a historic Venetian coffee roasting house from the 18th century, further enriching the documented provenance.
