JAPAN - Muromachi period (1336-1573). Samurai tanto. FUSHI - KASHIRA simple in suite in black lacquered horn. TSUKA in wood covered with ray skin. MENUKIS in chiseled, patinated and gilded copper depicting galloping horses. KOZUKA in engraved silver with foliage scroll decoration, signed Hiroizumi. SAYA in glossy black lacquered wood decorated with three circular motifs of foaming waves. Straight blade, the tang pierced once, signed KOSEN. This work is classified as "Jo Saku" (superior achievement) among the works of Kosen. Sold with the stand and its silk case for transport. Dimensions: 34 x 4 x 2 cm. Blade length: 18.2 cm.
