Prehistoric Stone Tools – Knapped Flint From Gard
Nice set of six tools from the Paleolithic (Prehistory), in honey flint "speckled" with bluish and black dendrites. A scraper/scraper, four arrowheads and a point blank.
Each tool measures between 4.4 and 5 cm long. Presentation box with black background, 8 cm on each side. Protective glass.
From an old collection from the 1980s.
Authentic from the prehistoric period.
A recrystallization crust is present on the surface of certain facets, testifying to the antiquity of the knapped flints, a testimony to the surface alteration due to time. Beyond the scientific and collection interest, the honey flint lets light through and allows the interior of the rock to be observed.
Geologically: The silica in its lithic tools most likely comes from flint nodules, mainly from the degradation of primary limestones; a second residual sedimentation.
