Movement: the movement is with two plates with the cadrature (striking mechanism) on the rear plate. The escapement is with recoil lever and the suspension is wire. Striking of the hour and half-hours as it passes with a reminder of the hour at two minutes, repetition of the strike on demand by lever through an opening in the side door. (The lever is provided with a hole to receive a cord to also activate the repeater by pull). The suspension is fixed on the upper plate with a key adjustment of the advance delay with indication of the setting by hand. The alarm clock is pull, its time setting by the alarm hand.

The capucine clock was particularly produced in Franche Comté. The production of capucines began around 1780 and disappeared around 1840. However, we exceptionally find earlier clocks of a similar shape defined as "pre-capucine".
