"Senior Naval Officer's Sword"
Sword of a Senior Naval Officer of the First Empire. Grip made of mother-of-pearl plate partitioned by rods. Pommel in the shape of a plumed helmet. Finely chiseled ferrule. Magnificent plate representing the Imperial Eagle with outstretched wings on a background of naval anchors and flags, all surrounded by oak and laurel branches. Rounded guard branch ending in a palmette-shaped quillon. The whole has retained 90% of its gilding.
Triangular Solingen blade blued and gilded in one third, decorated with trophies.
Blackened leather scabbard with two gilded fittings with foliage and spider web decorations.
