Lovely gilt bronze chamber clock, Empire-Restoration period (circa 1810-1830)Elegant chamber clock in finely chiseled gilt bronze, decorated with mythological and floral motifs. In the Empire style, it illustrates the taste of the early 19th century for Antiquity and the symbolism of love.In the lower part, a reclining putto holding a garland, symbol of love and abundance.Around the dial, a rich frieze of flowers and foliage.In the upper part, a semicircular medallion decorated with Venus and Cupid, surrounded by stylized plant motifs.Base decorated with garlands and resting on four finely chiseled feet.The dial is in white enamel with black Roman numerals.Mechanical movement with key winding (key present).Magnificent gilding for the face and some slight signs of wear due to the age of the gilding on the sides.The mechanism is in good working order.
