Hubert Le Gall is an artist from Lyon, Designer, Sculptor, Scenographer and Painter, Hubert Le Gall is a complete artist whose works are presented in the most prestigious galleries. He created a unique universe made of poetry and humor, all punctuated by functionalism and technicality. His plant inspirations have become classics in private and public collections, a bestiary will follow. He works with numerous interior designers such as Jacques Garcia, Caroline Sarkozy and Peter Marino for whom he created several pieces that decorate the Dior boutiques. The rug and its bronze table Ombre chinée belong to his first major creations, which earned him an international reputation and the interest of the Avant-Scène gallery in Paris. The latter even organized the designer's first exhibition, influenced by nature, in 1997. In this ensemble, the table inspired by Andy Warhol's flowers is combined with a rug on which shadows are drawn, creating a total work of art, mixing textile with sculpture to form an immense and captivating painting. Dated 2000, only 25 copies were produced, which explains the coveted effect it arouses today. Literary and artistic references are always numerous in Hubert Le Gall's work. We think of the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland or the sculptures of Barry Flanagan, a Welsh artist who made the hare his signature figure, sometimes burlesque, sometimes melancholic. But for the designer, these armchairs call for comfort with their soft faux fur and enveloping backrest. He actually has one in his Montmartre apartment, located in Pierre Bonnard's former studio. Hubert Le Gall brings together and combines the legacies of Jean-Michel Frank, Royère, André Dubreuil, Giacometti, and Dali, playing with all materials: plaster, bronze, glass, resin, and ceramic. Since 2002, Hubert le Gall has worked as a scenographer for France's greatest museums alongside his work as a visual artist. He is responsible for the "Claude Monet" exhibition at the Grand Palais and the "Pierre Bonnard" exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay. In 2015, he collaborated with some of the biggest names in luxury.
