Achille Buffier (1853- ?): "Sunset over the church of Ciboure" watercolor 31 X 18.5 cm, mounted by a marie-louise with gilded threads 51 X 36 cm.
Some intercalary spots and dirt, framed at Jalby in Bordeaux.
The Artist, a Bayonnais with multiple gifts, tenor, actor, musician, writer and painter produced many watercolors of the Basque Country during the Belle Epoque, like ours showing under a flamboyant sunset, the square in front of the church of Saint-Vincent de Ciboure from which the famous octagonal bell tower protrudes.
