Erik Detthow was a Swedish painter born on February 27, 1888 in Vänersborg and died on December 25, 1952 in Stockholm.
A student at the Stockholm School of Fine Arts, he painted nudes and landscapes animated by country life.
He participated several times in the Salon des Tuileries.
In April-May 1929 he participated in the Exhibition of Swedish Art organized at the Jeu de Paume Museum, presenting four paintings: "Composition", "Portrait of a Woman", "Landscape" and "Still Life".
The Galliéra Museum in Paris organized an exhibition: "Three contemporary Swedish artists: Eric Detthow, Carl Frisendahl, Björn von Rosen", from November 7 to December 8 1957.
Works kept at the Centre Pompidou museum: "Landscape" and "Bouquet of Flowers", two paintings made in 1930.
Oil on wood panel in very good general condition (some retouching necessary), signed "Detthow" lower right.
Size: 18,1 x 10,8 Inches without frame and 25,2 x 17,9 Inches with its parchment wood frame.
