HEER OFFICER SABER OF THE SERIES CALLED FELDMARSCHALL NUMBER 1765 "PRINZ EUGEN" IN THE MANUFACTURER'S CATALOGUE CARL EICKHORN, Wehrmacht Heer Säbel für Offiziere Model "Prinz Eugen", Second World War. 25727All metal parts of the guard, the tail of the cap and the guard branch in gilded silver, gilding in part absent. Pommel with beak engraved at its top with an eagle with folded wings of the type specific to the Heer; in the middle of the cap, shields overflowing on the fuse and decorated with acanthus leaves, from its mouth starting the guard branch, called "à la Blücher", going slightly widening in its center, decorated on its external face in a cartouche with two acanthus leaves facing each other, quillon of the guard branch in the form of a spiral volute, external earring of the guard overloaded with a stylized eagle with outstretched wings head to the right; internal earring with smooth shield intended to engrave the initials of the owner of the weapon. Ferrule enhanced with acanthus leaves. Wooden fuse covered with black celluloid, with eleven grooves underlined by a triple white metal filigree, twisted in its center, piece of leather ensuring the seal with the scabbard. Nickel-plated steel blade, slightly curved, with one edge and a fuller on two thirds, signed with the manufacturer's logo "CARL EICKHORN - SOLINGEN" in its latest expression. Black lacquered steel scabbard. Strap with a movable ring and trigger guard, simple steel dart. Blade length: 79 cm Total length of the weapon: 93 cm Lanyard made of a feldgrau green fabric cord with vertical aluminum threads; tassel, skirt and pellet in aluminum cannetille. Germany. Third Reich. Largely absent gilding on the guard, the guard branch and the cap. Missing one of the two screws at the clevis entry. Some black lacquering on the sheath, mainly at the stinger.
