OFFICER'S SABRE OF THE 2ND CUIRASSIER REGIMENT, KNOWN AS "CUIRASSIERS OF THE DAUPHIN," Restoration period. 32707 Gilt bronze hilt. Three-branch guard forming a shell at the front in the form of a round medallion decorated with the Arms of the Dauphin. Beechwood grip covered in black waxed calfskin, brass wire inlay. Short-tailed pommel decorated in relief with the initials "PA" for Philippe d'Artois (the Dauphin). Straight, white blade with two fullers, signed on the front at the ricasso "Coulaux / Frères" with the starred "B" hallmarks of EL Borson, inspector from August 1814 to September 1816 and "B" surrounded by a chain of JG Bick, first-class controller from May 1815 to August 1824, and on the back "Manufre / Rale / du / Klingenthal." Blade length 91.5 cm. Scarlet cloth sword knot. Steel scabbard with a projecting cup and two gilt brass suspension rings decorated with laurel leaves, studs, and gilt brass rings. Iron chape. France. Restoration period. Very good condition; the hilt retains 90% of its gilding; the upper guard branch is broken but without loss.
