A highly decorative Napoleon III period clock circa 1860. Made entirely of high-quality gilt bronze. Calliopede, daughter of Zeus, is the muse of epic poetry, adorned with her golden crown. She sits gracefully, holding a tablet depicting three famous poets of antiquity. It also features a musical score, a book, and a lyre.

White enamel dial, blue numerals, and finely crafted gilt hands, protected by a glass set in a bezel with a string of pearls. The imposing base is accented by a thick ivy garland.

Original mechanism without modification. The hour and half-hour strike is performed on an antique bell.
