Antoine Huberti (1898-1980) Cubist Painting Watercolor Spain 20th Century Still Life

Antonio HUBERTI, a Catalan painter, was born in Barcelona in 1898.
This long-forgotten artist is considered a Cubist and Constructivist painter.
He moved to Paris in the 1920s, but did not attend salons or galleries. He returned to Spain in the 1970s, where he died in 1980.
He never exhibited his work and donated it to a "family friend." Two sales were held at Drouot in 1987 and 1988, where 250 works were sold, with prices ranging from 1,500 to 15,000 Francs (the Franc was the currency at the time).
A major American collector purchased 30 works in one go.

This beautiful watercolor is mounted with a white mat and presented in a blackened wooden frame.
The back is reinforced with a wooden panel and protected by glass.
It is signed in the lower left corner.
