"Very Loud Hand Bell, Pastilled Bronze, 17th-18th Century"
Beautiful guard bell, capable of waking up a sleeping village, of good size, from bronze cast in wax, decorated with palmettes and leaves in relief. Over centuries, this clever turned wooden handle was placed on it, the rotation of which improves stroke of its beat.
It is a bell that has seen several centuries pass, and which must have had several uses, a slight circular wear on middle of body suggests it.
