Japan, Meiji period, beautiful acid-etched copper gong, the obverse centered with a symbolic Triskel, triskelion or triskeles motif, placed in a radiant surround with flower and bird motifs.
The gong itself is suspended by a mount whose main stem forming a gallows adopts a shape imitating a bamboo.
The base is formed of three copper plates with folds forming projections riveted on a small circular plate.
Note that by exerting a small force one can fold the three branches of this base.
