Japanese Bronze Vase By Akichika, Japan Meiji Era
Extraordinary bronze vase in baluster shape with multiple patinas, sculpted with a lizard observing a frog.
Note the exceptional quality of chiseling which suggests that the lizard is alive !
The underside is signed "Akichika" and is marked with a dragonfly seal.
Akichika seems to have worked as a goldsmith for the famous Maruki company.
