Chinese Jiaoyi Folding Armchair In Jichimu, China Qing Dynasty
Extremely rare jiaoyi type armchair in jichimu, with a rounded horseshoe-shaped back.
The central band is openwork and carved with kilin and coiled shi dragon decoration. The front crossbar of the seat and the swivel footrest are also carved. All the carvings have been done with great finesse and the different pieces of wood have been wonderfully chosen.
