"Wedgwood English Porcelain Plate / Circa 1950"
Decorative plate in Jasperware, fine unglazed porcelain, from the English manufacturer Wedgwood, made in England around the 1950s-1970s. It has a matte porcelain base in a lavender color, typical but rarer than the classic blue, with hand-applied white bas-relief motifs. The style is neoclassical, inspired by Greek and Roman antiquity, with allegorical scenes representing putti (cherubs) and plant garlands. On the back, the intaglio mark "WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND" confirms 20th-century production in the Stoke-on-Trent (Staffordshire) workshops.
