It consists of:
1/ A crested helmet model 1845 made in 1858.
Piece entirely original and in good general condition.
The bomb, the visor and the neck cover are made of steel. Serial number "845" and control mark on the back of the bomb (see photo). The same serial number is stamped on the mane's leather base which also bears the number "58" for the year of manufacture 1858.
The crest is made of brass. It is decorated on the front with a flaming grenade surmounted by a Medusa head and a laurel wreath. The sides are decorated with gadroons, acanthus leaves and palmettes. The "rain shield" protecting the top of the crest features a braided mane.
Black cowhide headband.
Finally, the whole is topped with a stylized brass holder and a scarlet horsehair aigrette called "marmouzet".
Brass chinstraps model 1845
Original black horsehair mane about 50 cm long for the visible part.
The linner is made of black leather. The visor and the neckpiece are also lined with leather.
Good general condition of conservation. Very beautiful steel bomb. Accident to the marmouzet (see photo). Small hole in the neckpiece. Wear to the liner and to the cowhide headband.
Height of the helmet (without the mane): 35 cm.
2/ A complete and original steel cuirass model 1825.
The breastplate and the backplate bear both the marking of the royal Klingenthal weapons factory.
For the breastplate: serial number 2574 and dated 1828. No size indication.
For the backplate: 3rd Size 1st Width, serial number 4325 and dated 182?.
Very good overall condition. Restored leather belt with original buckle.
